Cătălin Ștefănescu-Pătrașcu has rethought Erik Satie’s music in eclectic instrumental compositions – with flute, oboe, violin, guitar, cello and percussion, starting from works such as Gnossiennes (the first 4), Vexations, Tapisserie en fer forgé or Carrelage phonique.
In previous years, Imago Mundi researched the relationship between Romanian and French culture, tracing the profound role of French influences in Romanian artistic creation. Part of the results of this research can be found on the albums “Isvor. George Enescu” and “Isvor. Constantin Brancusi”.
This time we set out to explore Romanian-inspired French creation from the end of the 19th century, made possible thanks to the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1889.
